I love a bit of goth...I really enjoyed this review. I love a bit of gothic, and loved Prophecy of the Sisters. I get what you're saying about the restraint being carried a little too far though. I think the thing is, everything's a trilogy nowadays. And while I love trilogies and I'm thrilled that I'll be returning to this world, it's a very tall order for Zink to sustain that gothic atmosphere over three books without holding back on certain elements. I'm pretty confident we'll be taken to that next level in the second book.<br /><br />I agree about Lia's assumption too actually.
