In My Mailbox (10)

This meme is hosted by The Story Siren.

Nothing for review this week, but some lovely books I ordered from Book Depository came in. I adore Book Depository, as everything's so cheap and arrives so quickly. It seems too good to be true. I'm waiting for someone to pop up and tell me they can make the books so cheap by clubbing baby seals on the side or making small children from impoverished nations work in their sweatshops. Let's hope not.

Ice, Sarah Beth Durst. I can't wait to read this one.

V for Vendetta, Alan Moore. I loved the film so much I bought the graphic novel. It arrived on Guy Fawkes Day. How fitting.

Library: Crank, Ellen Hopkins

And finally one of my friends loaned me True Blood (the TV show). I've been dying to get my hands on this for ages.

  1. I'm waiting on a copy of Ice. With every review I read it sounds better and stranger.

Is there a chance you'll be reviewing Crank? I've been planning to read some Ellen Hopkins and I could use the help to decide which one to start with.

  2. I got Ice last week. I can't wait to read it.

Enjoy "True Blood"! I rented the DVDs of the first season a couple of months ago, and I really enjoyed it. (Be forewarned, though... there's a lot of nudity and sex!) :)

  3. I hope so Lauren. I might bump it up the queue a bit because it's terrible I haven't read any Hopkins. Oh, and I just realised the humour of getting "Ice" and "Crank" in the same week!

La C--Ah, that explains the R-rating!

  4. True Blood is awesome.
Though at some points the vampires (& their law system) are stupid. And the gratuitous sex becomes a bit tiring after a while (it's like, yeah, we get it, it's not Twilight. Your point has been made already. Let's get on with the story.)
    But overall it's pretty awesome.

  5. Ice! I need to get that one!

OMG, V for Vendetta is a graphic novel!!! WTF? How did I not know!!!???

I need to find that, lol.

Ooh, and I must find someone I know who has True Blood, because it's all I heard about for so long...

    Enjoy!

  6. Ice looks good. I'll have to look for that one.

I bought the first season of True Blood and am trying to walk on my treadmill as I watch it. I am only up to episode 4. I don't like to walk on my treadmill!

  7. I know what you mean Kathy--I get books on CD for that, and it alarms me how long it takes to get through them!

Do get the graphic novel, Lea. It's good so far, though a bit different from the film.

  8. I've ordered Ice too, sounds amazing, looking forward to seeing what you think.

Trueblood is good too, but I much prefer the books. I'm a bit of a prude so trueblood makes me blush too much if you catch my drift :-p

Hope you have a fab week of reading and writing!

  9. Ooh! You got Ice. I'm so jealous!
I hope that you'll love true Blood - I actually gave up on it after 3 episodes (it was too trashy and sexual for me), but then my boyfriend wanted to watch it, and so now I just finished the 2nd season.
I'm glad I gave it another try.
V for Vendetta the ghraphic novel is a bagazillion times better than the movie.
    Enjoy!
