Across the Universe Beth Revis (Razorbill)
YA sci-fi! I'm really hoping to see this genre take off in the near future. Across the Universe by Beth Revis sounds fantastic. Coming January 11, 2011 (Razorbill) in the US.
Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.
Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone—one of the few thousand inhabitants of the spaceship—tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn’t do something soon, her parents will be next.
Now, Amy must race to unlock Godspeed’s hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there’s only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.

You can read the first chapter online from the Across the Universe website. I can't wait for this book to come out either!

ReplyDeleteDoesn't it look great? Can't wait. Also, BEAUTIFUL cover art.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely. This is probably in my top five most wanted for 2011. Love me some sci-fi.
ReplyDeleteThis title sounds(looks as well) amazing! I just discovered that I actually like sci-fi last year so I can't wait to get a chance to read some more, especially YA sci-fi.
ReplyDeleteThere's a similar series called Remnants by K.A Applegate. The whole idea of suspended animation, scary creature onboard, mutations, waking up on a new planet, dangerous things, etc...
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous cover.
